We arrived early in Madrid and took the high-speed AVE train to Seville. It was a quick and easy way to get there.
Our hotel was next to an area by the river call Arenal. The hotel was charming, even if we did have a weird shaped room. We had a private patio which was really nice.
About a 10 minute walk from the hotel was an old bank that was turned into a high-end food court. We ate lunch here on a number of days. It was fun going from stall to stall. Apparently this use of an old bank is a new feature of Seville.
After lunch we walked across the Guadalquivir River to a section of town known as Triana which is famous for it's ceramics.
We went for tapas for dinner and had great food. Nice first day.
